Jawahar Niwas Palace Hotel

Jawahar Niwas Palace Hotel was the former residence of the British representative for the city, but the palace is now a 22 room hotel, still managed by the local maharaja. The hotel is located within walking distance of the old city, and provides some spectacular views of the fort. Its marble floors and 30 foot ceilings are reminiscent of an age in which money was no object for the ruling class. The palace does not have gardens due to the shortage of water in this part of Rajasthan. Jawahar Niwas provides an enchanting overture for those wanting some character in a hotel.
