Lake Naivasha Country Club

Just over an hour's drive from Nairobi, immediately after the descent into the Rift Valley, is Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha Country Club, located on the shores of the lake, was opened in 1937 as a staging post of Imperial Airways' flying boat service from Durban to London. The lake is 13 kilometres across, and the old colonial property is set in 55 acres of gardens on its shores. Accommodation is comfortable, and the hotel is a haven for bird watchers and those seeking a scenic retreat.
