The Ark

Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, this unique game lodge comprises three decks and numerous balconies, giving it a shiplike appearance, hence its name. From these vantage points, one looks down onto one of Africa's liveliest waterholes, named the Yasabara. The waterhole and salt lick attract a host of wildlife including elephant, rhino, leopard, hyena, bushbuck and occasionally an elusive bongo. It is floodlit at night so one can observe the activities of nocturnal animals as well. A ground level bunker also provides excellent photographic opportunities and enables you to get extremely close to the animals.
